Let’s talk about BP
After the President’s failed attempt to inspire confidence in us in his speech last night, where he spent more time trying to push cap and tax legislature than he did actually describing how they planned to fix the problem, I figured it would be a good idea to discuss some of the facts. 1. BP itself hasn’t existed as British Petroleum in some years. They merged with Amoco in 1998 . 2. The Deepwater Horizon oil rig is owned and operated by Transocean on behalf of BP – who is the majority owner of the oilfield they are drilling. 3. […]
Heads exploding
Will this ticket exist in 2012? I doubt it. But it would be interesting. I personally trust Bachman more than I trust Palin. Check out the video here.
Bring Back the Smoking Jacket
The Smoking Jacket, according to the always trustful Wikipedia was introduced in the 17th century and around 1850 Gentlemen’s Magazine of London defined the smoking jacket as a “kind of short robe de chambre, of velvet, cashmere, plush, merino or printed flannel, lined with bright colours, ornamented with brandenbourgs, olives or large buttons. Fast forward to the 20th Century and you find stars such as Fred Astair, Cary Grant, Frank Sinatra, and Dean Martin. But most notable who still is identified today is Hugh Hefner. Penelope Byrde, in The Male Image: Men’s Fashion in England 1300-1970, traces this attire to […]
No Common Sense Column: Obama pleads for 50 more billion
From here. President Obama urged reluctant lawmakers Saturday to quickly approve nearly $50 billion in emergency aid to state and local governments, saying the money is needed to avoid “massive layoffs of teachers, police and firefighters” and to support the still-fragile economic recovery. Right – and its his Organized Labor Unions that put the states in this predicament to begin with. “Only 50 more billion to bail out the states…”
Chris Christie is a Real Man
So far, after seeing and hearing what he has done, I feel like this guy is an real honest to god honourable man because he says what he does, and does what he says. Nothing could be more apparent than his recent video at this site. He’s doing what every single Governor of every state should be doing – fighting back against the unions. He brings up a very important fact for New Jersey. If the Unions had agreed to let the teachers not take a pay raise then many of them would not have been laid off. Instead the […]
Progressives upset, not spending enough.
From here. Asinine. It is a word I don’t get to break out nearly enough. But there is simply no other way to describe this… Liberal House Democrats say they’ ve been betrayed by their conservative Blue Dog colleagues. Months after shelving their doubts and helping Blue Dog Democrats get their signature issue of statutory pay-as-you-go language signed into law, some liberals say conservative Democrats have reneged on their side of the agreement. Barbra Boxer : Hey Hey… good bye
Decades of epic fail series – looks great because she is exactly what is wrong with this country. Check it out here.
Plan from the Left re-Hashed: Spend Spend Spend
This one is a quickie, but its too big not to talk about or point out. From here. “This cartoon was in the Chicago Tribune in 1934. Look carefully at the plan of action in the LOWER LEFT CORNER”. Seriously, we are repeating the mistakes of our past. I feel like every day when you look back at the 30’s and compare them with the events unfolding today they are so similar – the antisemitism, rise of socialism, rise of National Socialism. Politicians who are too power hungry. Remember that once FDR died we realized what was going on and […]
New Section Created
We’ve created a new section now called “From the news desk” – great place to post comments and poke fun at things that we find that are longer than a tweet or need more info posted but isn’t the same type of post as our main articles.
June 6th, 1944 (D-Day) Operation Overlord
Yesterday there wasn’t much fan-fare or discussion of D-Day in the major media outlets – as expected. The have become less and less involved in remembering our past as they beat the drum of “looking to the future and forgetting the past” when we should be doing the exact opposite of looking to the future and remembering the past so we don’t make the same mistakes.[…]
Site Launched
It’s been a long time coming and we’re not as “finished” as we would like but we figured we couldn’t delay any longer in launching the site -so you should expect some more visual changes going forward but this is the main layout for now. If you haven’t signed up for our mailing list – make sure you do here. You’ll be notified of updates and receive great information from us periodically but not enough that you’ll hate us. Our History: Our blogging history goes waaaaaay baaack. Actually in “internet time” it does – we started before blogger hit mainstream […]
