Is The Weather Channel Moving Rain Jacket Vendors?
Changes to Weather Channel Outwear Coming Soon? As recent as April 2021, we saw all the jackets with The Weather Channel logo and the Landsend Logo being worn. The Landsend Logo was large and very prominent on all of their outerwear clothing. There are youtube videos on the Landsend youtube channel that feature prominent videos promoting the Landsend apparel. Cut to August 2021 and they are all but missing. Then I searched for the weather channel webpage on Landsend https://www.landsend.com/theweatherchannel/ But going to the above link sends you to a plain jacket on the Landsend page. In fact in July […]
IF YOU’VE GOT A BUSINESS — YOU DIDN’T BUILD THAT. SOMEBODY ELSE MADE THAT HAPPEN
From the blaze: The White House has released the transcript of President Obama’s recent speech in Roanoke, Virginia, and it holds a number of noteworthy statements. “Channeling Elizabeth Warren,” in the words of Jazz Shaw at Hot Air, Barack Obama said that successful Americans “didn’t get there” on their own. The official transcript relates: There are a lot of wealthy, successful Americans who agree with me — because they want to give something back. They know they didn’t — look, if you’ve been successful, you didn’t get there on your own. You didn’t get there on your own. I’m always struck by people who think, well, […]
Trayvon Martin: Thug
Race-baiters and the leftist media narrative is debunked again as we learn that Trayvon indeed was a thug. Not the sweet innocent kid on his way home that they portray him to be. See here: First, Martin’s school suspension record. According to an investigation by the Miami Herald, Martin was suspended twice – once in October of last year for graffiti, and prior to the shooting for possession of a bag with traces of marijuana and a “marijuana pipe.” Martin was also found in possession of some jewelry and what the Herald describes as a “burglary tool,” though these items were […]
Obama asks to become dictator in none so many words.
When Adolf Hitler took power there was a congress in Germany so to speak of elected officials that represented the people. Hitler decided that in order to get things done more quickly… you know for the good of the German people, that he should consolidate the power of the executive branch. I can’t say that I wasn’t surprised that he wants to be a supreme dictator and circumvent the constitution. But I am surprised at his ginormous balls to go out and state this in the open, and actually make this request. I guess I’m also not surprised that none of […]
War with Iran?
With the EU slapping more sanctions on Iran to force nuclear talks – Iran now is making moves to close the straight of Hormuz. What will happen if we go to war with Iran? We already have a large group of troops deployed in Afghanistan and an additional 15,000 troops deployed in Kuwait. We’re poised to strike. Seriously the idea of getting into yet another war in the middle east sounds really bad. But the idea of Iran nuking the neighboring countries is equally bad.
Personal Responsibility and Accountability
I think one of my biggest pet-peeves now-a-days is that people are taking less and less responsibility for their actions. And it’s for anything. I would like to say that words mean something but giving your word apparently doesn’t mean anything today. If you say you’re going to help a friend move, and then don’t show up, what does that say about you? If you say you’re going to be at a gathering or get together and then don’t show up what does it say about you? If you say you’re going to meet a deadline and then miss it, what does […]
2012 Bringing in the New Year and Remembering the Past
While its been a slow year on this site it hasn’t been a slow year for us. On the manly front we’ve seen good progress on all things manly. In politics we have a good selection of mostly conservative candidates shaping up for the 2012 election. As we come to a close on this year its time to take stock and consider what next year will bring. I’m not sure what direction this site will take next year. I do think a redesign is in order to something a bit more snazzy and even less newsy as far as […]
Postal Service proposing cutting next day first class mail
From here. Isn’t it like a government entity that competes with private sector companies to be over budget, offer worse service, and now slower service to still be in business? Seriously, any other company would have gone bankrupt by now. But not the postal service because tax payers are paying for them to be slow and inefficient.
Media Hurricane Hype
You know there is nothing more disgusting than a media knowing the truth but ignoring it in favor of ratings. That’s exactly what they tried to do this weekend, and I think most Americans that had common sense took note of it. I found a great article discussing just that here. But the apocalypse that cable television had been trumpeting had failed to materialize. And at 9 a.m., you could almost hear the air come out of the media’s hot-air balloon of constant coverage when Hurricane Irene was downgraded to a tropical storm. Not everyone was willing to accept […]
Hurricane Irene not the apocolypse
The regular news media has been fawning over itself to talk about how horrible this hurricane would be.. the coming apocalypse for New York. Sure there is high tide, and some flooding, but it was a Cat 2 when it made landfall and quickly downgraded to a Cat 1 and then lower – it weakened very fast to what? A big thunderstorm.
The Tea Party is to blame for the debt rating downgrade?
Seriously? Did the Tea Party members spend us into this much debt? Nope. Did the Tea Party Members vote to keep borrowing money that we don’t have? Nope. Hello straw-man argument.
I’m an American, not a bump in the road
While I’m not a fan of Romney. I am a fan of this commercial. It uses a phrase Obama used that we’ll have a few bumps in the road to recovery. And shows people laying down on the concrete. Impressive.
The previous generation was too wasteful
That’s why we have to have green energy and recycle today because the previous generation was a very wasteful generation. At least that’s what they are telling everyone. When you hear someone talk about being wasteful, I want you to remember reading this story: How Wasteful the Older Generation Was In the line at the store, the cashier told the older woman that she should bring her own grocery bag because plastic bags weren’t good for the environment. The woman apologized to him and explained, “We didn’t have the green thing back in my day.” The clerk responded, “That’s our […]
