From here Students in a Texas public high school were made to stand up and recite the Mexican national anthem and Mexican pledge of allegiance as part of a Spanish class assignment, but the school district maintains there was nothing wrong with the lesson. It happened last month in an intermediate Spanish class at Achieve Early College High School in McAllen, Texas — a city located about 10 miles from the U.S.-Mexico border. Really nothing wrong with this? What the hell is happening to our school systems? Do we go to Mexico and demand they say the United States Pledge?
Really? Think they are actually going to make cuts? In a time when its political suicide to let any government downsizing happen – the post office is broke. Hell, its been broke forever. It can’t run like a business because you have politicians ruling over it. Other countries have successfully privatized their postal service, why can’t we? There is little consensus on legislation to overhaul the agency, which could include cutting Saturday delivery, allowing the agency to dip into an estimated surplus in a retirement fund or raising its borrowing limit. Wait? Dip into a retirement fund? Am I reading that right? […]
You know there is nothing more disgusting than a media knowing the truth but ignoring it in favor of ratings. That’s exactly what they tried to do this weekend, and I think most Americans that had common sense took note of it. I found a great article discussing just that here. But the apocalypse that cable television had been trumpeting had failed to materialize. And at 9 a.m., you could almost hear the air come out of the media’s hot-air balloon of constant coverage when Hurricane Irene was downgraded to a tropical storm. Not everyone was willing to accept […]
The regular news media has been fawning over itself to talk about how horrible this hurricane would be.. the coming apocalypse for New York. Sure there is high tide, and some flooding, but it was a Cat 2 when it made landfall and quickly downgraded to a Cat 1 and then lower – it weakened very fast to what? A big thunderstorm.
From here. A man charged with unlawfully shooting and killing a grizzly bear in defense of his family, garnered so many supporters at his arraignment in U.S. District Court Tuesday that the judge had to move the hearing to a larger courtroom. Even in the larger space, however, every seat was reportedly occupied as the man’s family, friends and neighbors vied for a place to show their support. Jeremy M. Hill, 33, pleaded not guilty to killing the grizzly with a rifle on his 20-acre property near Porthill, Idaho, at the Canadian border. Because the Endangered Species Act classifies the grizzly as a threatened species, […]
Seriously? Did the Tea Party members spend us into this much debt? Nope. Did the Tea Party Members vote to keep borrowing money that we don’t have? Nope. Hello straw-man argument.
From here. During her visit to South Africa, First Lady Michelle Obama stopped by the University of Cape Town for an event with young people. She told the audience how she came from modest circumstances and was able to attend top schools and build a career at a big law firm, saying they too can achieve their dreams if they try hard enough. After her speech, she was asked a series of soft questions like, “What advice can you give the youth today?” But at the end of the session, one young person in the audience asked Mrs. Obama, who […]
Even though more jobs were added, unemployment increased from 8.8 to 9% and that doesn’t count the number of underemployed or not reported. CNN: The unemployment rate edged up to 9.0%, ending a streak of four straight months of declines. Economists had forecast it would remain unchanged at 8.8%. The rate often increases as the job market improves and previously discouraged workers return to labor force. An additional 113,000 people who were not counted among the unemployed in March, re-entered the labor force in April.
Drama between the progressive press and the White House Communications office erupts into Democrat vs Democrat hearsay controversy.
The San Franciscan press is in a tit for tat with the White House over whether or not Chicago style politics are being employed over the ‘regulated’ freedom of the press. What is more? A union is at the core of the regulatory confines of the press when dealing with fundraising efforts of our incumbent Leader…. Reader more here.
Apparently the current presidential administration prides itself on myths and then ticks off their own base in 3 different ways – 1. Not as Progressive 2. Not as Transparent 3. Pissing off the San Fransisco press Read it at the San Fransisco Gate here.
