Makers Mark Makes a mistake – Viral Campaign Puts them back on track
Last week Makers Mark announced that it would be changing its alcohol content by 3% (which really isn’t 3%) to go from 45% alcohol by volume to 42% alcohol or 90 to 84 proof. Their reasoning was that they anticipated shortages and wanted to stretch the liquor out to cover the shortages. They even went so far as to have connoisseurs come in and try to taste the difference between them. The owners said they had tested the watered-down bourbon themselves and validated their own findings with consumer research. Both agreed that “there’s no difference in the taste,” Samuels said. “While not every […]
A New Fathers Guide to Diapers
There are a good number of books out there on this crap(drum roll), but most people just Google this stuff, and it brings them to a website that has the information. So here we are providing you the information based on my own personal experience in the diaper lab here at the institute. This is the man’s guide to changing diapers or a practical guide or real-world guide cause they never tell you the nitty- gritty in those self help books. And just for your own edification – diapers all use the same chemical to absorb wetness. Acrylic acid is a key component of super-absorbent polymers […]
Happy New Year 2013
Well, we’ve made it to yet another year here on the Institute’s website. This year we’ve really accomplished jack squat. Next year, I suspect will be similar with one exception – if I don’t get any writers who want to help, I may shift focus slightly to fatherhood since this year I became one. So my New Years’ resolution would be to post a bit more than last year – and that should be pretty easy right? I think we didn’t even get once per month. Next, would be to post more original content – I think this is where […]
Mass Shootings are actually on the decline
The perception is that its getting worse. This appears to be incorrect. The reality is that our national media feeds on this and devotes oodles of time on it. The progressive agenda uses tragedies like this as a spring board to go on the anti-gun campaigns – never let a national tragedy or event go to waste is their motto.
Go Vote
Today more than any other day is key to do your minimum citizen duty which is to vote. The is the bare minimum. Go Vote.
Politicians (the left) mulling moving the election
Because of the hurricane and how it ravaged the north east – politicians are discussing if they can move election day next Tuesday by a week. The president does not have the power to move the election – elections are left up to the states. Congress can have a say but they are not in session. In 2004, Congress passed a resolution on changing presidential election dates stating: “No single individual or agency should be given the authority to postpone the date of a Presidential election.”
GM trying to free itself from Government, Obama Administration says no
GM would love to be able to attract talent that would help it make new cars that people want to buy – you know.. to innovate. But because of the salary cap restrictions imposed by the government they can’t. CHICAGO (MarketWatch) — The Treasury Department is resisting General Motors’ push for the government to sell off its stake in the auto maker, The Wall Street Journal reports. Following a $50 billion bailout in 2009, the U.S. Read more here.
Waterspouts captured on video
From here. From the this is damn cool archives: Over the weekend, a freighter closer to the Wisconsin side of Lake Michigan caught a rare sight of not one but five waterspouts above the lake. The National Weather Service recorded a total of nine waterspouts cropping up with winds around 45 miles per hour. Freighter captain and storm chaser Eric Treece was able to film a dense grouping of the waterspouts. MLive.com has more from Treeceon the water formations he saw Saturday and his experience with them over the years: “Being out here, I get a really good view of thunderstorms over […]
IF YOU’VE GOT A BUSINESS — YOU DIDN’T BUILD THAT. SOMEBODY ELSE MADE THAT HAPPEN
From the blaze: The White House has released the transcript of President Obama’s recent speech in Roanoke, Virginia, and it holds a number of noteworthy statements. “Channeling Elizabeth Warren,” in the words of Jazz Shaw at Hot Air, Barack Obama said that successful Americans “didn’t get there” on their own. The official transcript relates: There are a lot of wealthy, successful Americans who agree with me — because they want to give something back. They know they didn’t — look, if you’ve been successful, you didn’t get there on your own. You didn’t get there on your own. I’m always struck by people who think, well, […]
Manly Breakfast: Biscuits and Bacon Gravy
When it comes to cooking, adding bacon to everything automatically makes things better. It’s man law. One of the things that you absolutely need to do as a man is to know how to cook amazing dishes for your friends, your family, and if you’re dating, to impress your woman. In this recipie we’re going to talk about a staple at breakfast, biscuits and bacon gravy. Sure sausage gravy is great, and I’ve cooked it many times as well, but bacon gravy is king. So here is what you’ll need: 4-5 Strips of bacon (your choice of flavor) 1/2 […]
Trayvon Martin: Thug
Race-baiters and the leftist media narrative is debunked again as we learn that Trayvon indeed was a thug. Not the sweet innocent kid on his way home that they portray him to be. See here: First, Martin’s school suspension record. According to an investigation by the Miami Herald, Martin was suspended twice – once in October of last year for graffiti, and prior to the shooting for possession of a bag with traces of marijuana and a “marijuana pipe.” Martin was also found in possession of some jewelry and what the Herald describes as a “burglary tool,” though these items were […]
Andrew Breitbart
From website: Andrew passed away unexpectedly from natural causes shortly after midnight this morning in Los Angeles. We have lost a husband, a father, a son, a brother, a dear friend, a patriot and a happy warrior. Andrew lived boldly, so that we more timid souls would dare to live freely and fully, and fight for the fragile liberty he showed us how to love. Andrew recently wrote a new conclusion to his book, Righteous Indignation: I love my job. I love fighting for what I believe in. I love having fun while doing it. I love reporting stories that the […]
Obama asks to become dictator in none so many words.
When Adolf Hitler took power there was a congress in Germany so to speak of elected officials that represented the people. Hitler decided that in order to get things done more quickly… you know for the good of the German people, that he should consolidate the power of the executive branch. I can’t say that I wasn’t surprised that he wants to be a supreme dictator and circumvent the constitution. But I am surprised at his ginormous balls to go out and state this in the open, and actually make this request. I guess I’m also not surprised that none of […]
War with Iran?
With the EU slapping more sanctions on Iran to force nuclear talks – Iran now is making moves to close the straight of Hormuz. What will happen if we go to war with Iran? We already have a large group of troops deployed in Afghanistan and an additional 15,000 troops deployed in Kuwait. We’re poised to strike. Seriously the idea of getting into yet another war in the middle east sounds really bad. But the idea of Iran nuking the neighboring countries is equally bad.
