Taxation as a punishment for success … or … How the inactive man profits from the active man.
There has been a lot of rhetoric involving what income levels should be taxed the most. Recent studies show that nearly fifty percent of all Americans do not pay taxes. Instead the fifty percent who are freeloading actually MAKE money during tax time. So what should we do to level the playing field? There are a number of options – the first of which is to educate the masses as to how unjust our taxation structure is. More and more our government wishes to harness the output of the most wealthy for some form of social justice through tax credits for those who produce less. This is a self-killing progressive taxation that cannot be sustained if we are to continue as a great nation which truly cares about perpetually caring for those that honestly cannot provide for themselves.
