First, Martin’s school suspension record. According to an investigation by the Miami Herald, Martin was suspended twice – once in October of last year for graffiti, and prior to the shooting for possession of a bag with traces of marijuana and a “marijuana pipe.” Martin was also found in possession of some jewelry and what the Herald describes as a “burglary tool,” though these items were not convincingly established as being owned by Martin himself, following an independent investigation by police.

Andrew passed away unexpectedly from natural causes shortly after midnight this morning in Los Angeles.

When Adolf Hitler took power there was a congress in Germany so to speak of elected officials that represented the people.  Hitler decided that in order to get things done more quickly… you know for the good of the German people, that he should consolidate the power of the executive branch.

I can’t say that I wasn’t surprised  that he wants to be a supreme dictator and circumvent the constitution.  But I am surprised at his ginormous balls to go out and state this in the open, and actually make this request.  I guess I’m also not surprised that none of the media picked up on this or are talking about it.  Here is his direct quote:

The executive branch also needs to change. Too often, it’s inefficient, outdated and remote. That’s why I’ve asked this Congress to grant me the authority to consolidate the federal bureaucracy so that our Government is leaner, quicker, and more responsive to the needs of the American people.

And go here to actually watch it (fast forward to 50:36) – and then a bunch of dumb-asses clapping – little do they know he’s basically trying to put them all out of a job.  Just give all the power to him, he knows best.

With the EU slapping more sanctions on Iran to force nuclear talks – Iran now is making moves to close the straight of Hormuz.    What will happen if we go to war with Iran?  We already have a large group of troops deployed in Afghanistan and an additional 15,000 troops deployed in Kuwait.   We’re poised to strike.  Seriously the idea of getting into yet another war in the middle east sounds really bad.  But the idea of Iran nuking the neighboring countries is equally bad.

I agree.  But shutting down this site will have little to no impact.  Both proposed bills are horrible and have consequences that are far reaching.  Sure you need to stop piracy but this legislature is not going to do anything other than hurt law abiding people of many countries.  Don’t give our government more power.

Did you know that on April 26, 2010, December 20, 2010, and July 7, 2011 the U.S. Food & Drug Administration publicly posted their intent to regulate cigars in the Federal Register?

Some of the measures FDA could consider, as we believe they are, include:

• Ban on walk-in humidors, self serve cigar displays, and mail-order cigar sales;
• Ban on all flavored cigars, that are enjoyed by legal-age adults;
• Deface ornate, decorative cigar boxes, often considered an art form with grotesque images;
• Ban on cigar events where free cigars (samples) could be available to legal-age adults;
• Limits on cigar marketing and advertising;
• Imposition of new ‘user fees’ [tax] on cigars, to finance regulations;
• Limits on special release and small-batch cigars, due to mandates that cigar blends be submitted to FDA for pre-approval before release;
• Limits on nicotine levels on cigars to near zero, severely impacting the flavor of cigars;
• Ban on marketing cigar merchandise.

Isn’t it like a government entity that competes with private sector companies to be over budget, offer worse service, and now slower service to still be in business?  Seriously, any other company would have gone bankrupt by now.  But not the postal service because tax payers are paying for them to be slow and inefficient.

Today is 11-11-11.  Remember that on the 11th day on the 11th hour on the 11th month of 1918 WWI came to a close.  We celebrate all veterans that have fought and died protecting our country, our way of life, and our freedom.  Thank you.

From here Students in a Texas public high school were made to stand up and recite the Mexican national anthem and Mexican pledge of allegiance as part of a Spanish class assignment, but the school district maintains there was nothing wrong with the lesson.

It happened last month in an intermediate Spanish class at Achieve Early College High School in McAllen, Texas — a city located about 10 miles from the U.S.-Mexico border.

Really nothing wrong with this? What the hell is happening to our school systems?  Do we go to Mexico and demand they say the United States Pledge?
